The hydro power mixed floating solar (HHFS) pilot project at Kenyir Lake Dam has a capacity of 100 kilowatts (kW). The project covers an area of 1,085 square meters and is equipped with 220 solar panels. It had been launched on July 12, 2025. This project proves that the largest lake in Malaysia with an area of 36,900 hectares has significant potential for floating solar development, accounting for up to 10% of the area, which can generate approximately 2,200 megawatts of electricity without affecting the lake's ecology. Kenyir will also provide renewable electricity to Kertih to support the development of future green hydrogen hubs.
