Floating Solar System Installation Guide

1

Site Requirements and Preparation:Start by evaluating the installation site thoroughly. Check water body dimensions, average water level variation, wind load, and site accessibility. A precise survey ensures the floating solar system fits the environment and operates safely under expected conditions.

2

Float System Assembly and Layout: Foner's modular floats are engineered for simple, tool-efficient assembly. Floats, walkways, and panel support frames are laid out on land. Each unit is connected using high-strength locking systems to form a stable platform before water deployment.

3

Solar Module Integration: PV modules are mounted directly onto the floating structure using pre-aligned aluminum mounting rails. Tilt angles are optimized for energy yield and site latitude. Panel layout must follow engineering drawings to maintain balance and ensure even weight distribution.

4

Water Deployment and Positioning: The preassembled units are gently floated onto the water surface, either by manual guiding or towing. Positioning lines help align the structure with the planned orientation. This process is completed in sections and then connected using floating links or hinges.

5

Anchoring and Stability System: Foner provides flexible anchoring solutions including deadweight anchors, screw piles, or mooring blocks, depending on the waterbed and project scale. Each mooring point is strategically placed to ensure the system remains stationary during strong winds or water movement.

6

Electrical Configuration and Safety:Electrical cables are installed in floating cable trays or secured with clips along the walkway. All components-connectors, junction boxes, and cables-must be waterproof, UV-resistant, and compliant with floating solar electrical standards. Inverter systems can be placed on land or floating platforms, depending on the project.

7

Commissioning and System Check: Before activation, the entire structure undergoes a mechanical and electrical inspection. Buoyancy, anchoring, module alignment, and output testing are performed. Safety checks confirm compliance with floating solar design standards, ensuring readiness for power generation.

6

Maintenance and Support Guidelines:Routine checks on float integrity, panel cleanliness, and anchoring tension are recommended. Foner supports post-installation inspections and offers training for local maintenance teams. Long-term performance is ensured with minimal but regular preventive care.
